To provide an image processing apparatus and program capable of switching image processing in accordance with presence/absence of periodicity.
The image processing apparatus includes: a center point calculating means for determining a center point that is the center of points, where pixel values vary, in binary image data; a determination means for determining whether or not the binary image data have periodicity based on an interval of the center points determined by the center point calculating means; and an image processing means for applying smoothing processing, prohibiting smoothing processing or applying multi-value conversion processing to the binary image data in accordance with a result of the determination by the determination means.
