An image processing apparatus 3 comprises: a pixel determination unit 120 that includes an object pixel determination part 121 for determining an object pixel in each object area of a plurality of frame images IG constituting a moving image; a period classification unit 130 that detects an object area period as a periodic time change of the object area and classifies a plurality of frame images IG into the object area period cycle; a period evaluation unit 140 that includes an object pixel evaluation part 240 for evaluating each object area period on the basis of a pixel value of the object pixel and acquires a periodic evaluation result of the object pixel for each object area period; and a period selection unit 150 that selects a specific object area period on the basis of the periodic evaluation result and acquires a frame image classified into the specific object area period as a specific periodic frame image.
