An idle time detecting unit 50 detects an idle time during which an own apparatus is not used, and when the presence of print data which are not developed is determined, a request of development is sent to a print control unit 51 together with print data ID of the print data. The print control unit 51 acquires print data 61 from an HDD 14 and sends them to a PDL 52 based on the print data ID and a print/development data reference table 60. The PDL 52 develops the print data into image data and sends them to a developed data storage control unit 53 together with the print data ID, the developed data storage control unit 53 stores developed data 62 in the HDD 14 and registers a developed data ID and storage position information into the print/development data reference table 60, and this processing is finished.
