To provide a print system which enables a user to confirm a print of a photographic image as early as possible when the printing speed of a connected printer is slow and when direct printing is carried out simultaneously while photographing.

An imaging apparatus is equipped with a means of estimating a time needed to print a predetermined image and performs control for making smaller the size of each image outputted to a printer according as the estimated print time is longer, or control is so performed as to lower the resolution of a print. The imaging apparatus is equipped with a means of obtaining the number of images which are not printed among generated images and when the number of the images which are not printed is large, the size of each image outputted to the printer is made smaller, or the resolution of the print is made low.
