To provide a method for preferentially displaying a required image in order to solve the problem that when printing images by connecting an external storage device to an image processor, there is no means for recognizing image data printed in the past so that an unnecessary file may be printed by mistake and a user cannot easily select an image which is frequently printed, thereby increasing the time required for selecting the images to be printed.

Printing history information is recorded in an external storage device or in a header of image data, and it is used to display a print history together with the image data or to devise a display method, so that a user can visually recognize the printing history. Thus, usability is improved for preventing erroneous printing or facilitating selecting a printing target.
