To provide an image processing apparatus allowing reduction of an access error to an RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) tag.
An MFP (Multi Function Peripheral) 100 obtains image of a print target and data of a writing target (S101). Thereafter, the MFP 100 starts carriage of a paper sheet attached with the RFID tag (S102), and accesses the RFID tag attached to the paper sheet (S104). The MFP 100 decides whether or not the access to the RFID tag is normally completed (S104), and prints the image (S105) when affirmative decision is performed (S104: YES). When negative decision is performed (S104: NO), the MFP 100 changes carriage control such that a passage time that is a time wherein the paper sheet passes an access range of an R/W device 52 increases (S141).
