To provide an image processing apparatus which can prepare image data which can be seen a little better than the image of the face of a user by subjective evaluation of the user without taking a person's help.
This image processing apparatus is provided with an input part 1 for inputting image signals, a storage means 2 for storing the inputted image as a digital image, a shape extracting means 110 for identifying a shape from the image data read out from the storage means and extracting the region, a model storing means 140 for outputting an appropriate model in accordance with a shape signal for expressing the kind of the shape discriminated by the shape extracting means 110, a transformation means 120 for transforming the shape region discriminated from the image data so as to bring it close to an appropriate model from the model storing means 140 by a certain ratio, a synthesizing means 130 for synthesizing the image data transformed by the transformation means 120 to the original image data and a displaying part 3 for displaying the synthesized image data.
