Abstract:
To enable a subject image to be observed in a more suitable appearance depending on a state or situation with respect to observation of the subject image.SOLUTION: An image processing system comprises: a light source device for outputting ordinary light or special light; a camera head including an optical element for extending a distribution of a modulation transfer function and performing modulation so that a value of the modulation transfer function reduces as compared with that before application and an image pickup element for creating an image signal; and an image processing device that on the image signal, performs image processing including restoration processing of increasing the value of the modulation transfer function at a focal position on the basis of PSF information corresponding to an observation mode to create an EDOF (Extended Depth of Field) image. The image processing device performs restoration processing based on PSF information for a special light observation mode when the special light observation mode is selected and performs restoration processing based on PSF information for an ordinary light observation mode when the ordinary light observation mode is selected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
