An image processing device comprises: image acquisition means which acquires plural original images obtained by imaging a subject at different focal positions; image generation means which generates plural observation images from the plural original images; and image display means which displays the observation images on a display device. The image generation means executes, plural times, synthesizing processing of generating a sheet of observation image by selecting two or more sheets of the original images from the plural original images and performing depth synthesis of them, while differentiating the combination of the selected original images, thereby generating the plural observation images.
