An image processing device 1 comprises: human body detection means 14 to detect that a human body exists within a predetermined range; and return determination means to determine, when the human body detection means detects an existence of the human body during the sleep mode, whether or not to return to a standby mode from a sleep mode according to a predetermined criterion. In particular, the return determination means specifies a kind of a most recent job by referring to a job history where the kind of a received job is recorded and determines whether or not to return to the standby mode from the sleep mode based on the kind of the most recent job.
