An image processing device comprises: a detecting unit that detects a local-maximum portion as a region of a pixel having a color-difference signal value larger than that of its periphery in a frame image; a determining unit that obtains an overlapping portion between a first neighboring region of a pixel of interest belonging to the local-maximum region and the local-maximum region, and obtains the minimum value of color-difference signals of pixels belonging to the overlapping portion; and a correcting unit that corrects a color-difference signal of the pixel of interest on the basis of the value of the color-difference signal of the pixel of interest and the minimum value of the color-difference signals.
