Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make resolution of a composite image capable of setting an arbitrary focus position higher than that to be determined depending upon microlenses.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: a plurality of microlenses 120 that is two-dimensionally arranged in the vicinity of a focal plane of an image forming optical system; an image pickup element 13 in which an element group including a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements receiving a ray flux passing through the image forming optical system and coming from a subject via the microlens and outputting an image signal is two-dimensionally arranged corresponding to each of the microlenses; composite means 106 and 107 for, in order to generate composite image data corresponding to a plurality of image formation regions in an arbitrary image formation plane of the image forming optical system, composing image signals output from the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements on the basis of a table identifying a location of the photoelectric conversion element outputting an image signal for use in generation of composite image data for each image formation region; and creation means 105 for creating the table for each arbitrary image formation plane.
