Abstract:
Provided is an image processing device for detecting and recognizing obstacles, which is capable of suitably clustering (grouping) differential data of a target moving obstacle, even if the relative angle of the target moving obstacle with respect to a host vehicle remains constant, and which is capable of improving the reliability of detection and recognition of obstacles, even if there is a decrease in differential data of a target obstacle, such as in a collision course scenario. The image processing device comprises: an image differential computation unit 141 that calculates differential data of a plurality of overhead images of different times; a differential data clustering unit 151 that clusters the differential data; a cluster combination unit 161 that, using a result from the differential data clustering unit 151, and on the basis of a characteristic of the overhead images, combines clusters; and a cluster combination evaluation unit 171 that evaluates the combination result of the cluster combination unit 161 on the basis of a characteristic of a target object.
