There is provided an image processing apparatus, comprising input means for inputting image data, which are obtained by digitizing an image signal that has been converted from light from an object into an electrical signal by an image sensor, and performing noncompression or reversible compression; image processing parameter input means for inputting parameters to be employed in image processing on the image data executed by the user; image processing means for performing luminance-related processings or chrominance-related processings to the image data, according to the image processing parameter inputted by the image processing parameter input means; and storage means for storing the intermediate result for each of the luminance-related processings and the chrominance-related processings.
