To provide an image processor capable of acquiring an expanded character image of high quality at high speed, and to provide an image processing program.
A segment portion 1 segments a character section image from an input image. A binarization portion 2 carries out binarization for each character section image. An extraction portion 3 extracts a binary character image corresponding to a similar character, based on binary character images made by the binarization portion 2. A multiple value character image acquisition portion 4 acquires a character section image corresponding to each binary character image extracted by the extraction portion 3 and transforms each acquired character portion image into a multiple value character image. A magnification portion 5 expands the multiple value character image at first, and computes the center of gravity for the expanded multiple value character image. Then, the magnification portion 5 aligns and superimpose the expanded multiple value character image according to the computed center of gravity, and computes the average value to acquire an enlarged character image. Based on the enlarged character image, an inverse transformation portion 6 acquires an expanded character section image corresponding to each character section image.
