Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more robustly detect a blood vessel on an image.SOLUTION: An image processing device is provided, which includes extraction means for extracting a blood vessel region by detecting a combination of a positive gradient and a negative gradient of pixel values in a direction along a pixel string about each of a plurality of pixel strings constituting an image including a blood vessel. The extraction means includes determination means for determining a vector obtained by normalizing a gradient vector with the size of the gradient vector as a feature vector of each coordinates, for example, when the size of the gradient vector of pixel values in the coordinates is equal to or greater than a threshold corresponding to a noise level, and determining a zero vector as a feature vector of the coordinates when the size of the gradient vector is less than the threshold in each coordinates of the image, and detection means for detecting as a blood vessel an area until when components become negative (positive) after where the components become positive (negative) when seeing the components in the direction along the pixel string of the feature vector of each coordinates on the pixel string along the direction.
