Abstract:
To provide a technology that enables obtaining a high-quality display image even when clip processing and OOTF processing are executed.SOLUTION: An image processing method according to the present invention includes a first acquisition step of acquiring first information on a first range which is a luminance range of input image data, a second acquisition step of acquiring second information on a second range which is a luminance range of a display target, a first conversion step of generating first converted image data by executing first conversion processing of converting the luminance range of the input image data into a luminance range equal to the display luminance range on the basis of the second information, and a second conversion step of generating second converted image data by executing second conversion processing of converting the luminance of the first converted image data on the basis of the first information and the second information, and in the second conversion step, the second conversion processing is executed such that the luminance of the first converted image data is reduced by a large reduction amount as the maximum luminance in the second range decreases.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
