PURPOSE: To attain optional movement of visual point in a space by receiving an image from plural visual point positions, detecting a position and a direction of eyes of image viewer, and configuring an image seen from the visual point positon again from multi-visual point image data based thereon.
CONSTITUTION: A virtual image is configured again by forming a virtual image pickup point Vp being a visual point of a viewer by using images picked up on line segments l0, l1, l2. A picture element value of a virtual image Vu formed by using the point Vp to be a virtual image pickup point is the same value as a picture element value of an image Ru obtained by image pickup while using a cross point Rp of the line segments l0, l1, l2 as an image pickup visual point being a center of a lens. In order to obtain the virtual image Vu, a ray is traced in the unit of picture elements in this way and values of the picture elements constituting the virtual image Vu are to be decided one by one. An image in the optional visual point position and in the direction of line of sight is configured again from the image picked up from a limited image pickup visual point to attain optional visual point movement in a space.
