Abstract:
To provide a method for measuring a "cross-sectional meridian direction length" (a length along the contour line of a tire when grooves are ignored) based on a tire cross-sectional image.SOLUTION: An image processing method of an embodiment is a method for processing a tire cross-sectional image and includes: extracting, in the cross-sectional image, an inside contour line representing a tire inner face and an outside contour line representing a tier outer face as contour lines composed of point groups, the outside contour line including grooves; performing expansion processing and contraction processing on the cross-sectional image to fill the grooves in the outside contour line, thereby changing the outside contour line to a smooth line without the grooves; and integrating the distance between adjacent two points on the smooth line to determine the length along the smooth line from a predetermined starting point on the smooth line to a predetermined position on the smooth line.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
