PURPOSE: To provide an image thinning line processing method which is capable of performing the image processing at speed than a conventional one, regarding the image thinning line processing performing a core line making of the graphic of line width 1 for a binary graphic.
CONSTITUTION: An object picture element is deleted only when the following conditions are concluded. Condition 1: The object picture element is not a surrounding picture element (step 101). Condition 2: It is not an endpoint or an independent point (step 102). Condition 3: 8 connecting number is 1 (step 103). Condition 4: The following Conditions 4a and 4b are simultaneously concluded (step 104). Condition 4a: As for the advancing direction of a scanning line, one before the object picture element is an index picture element value by judging by successive type and the 8 connecting number of the object picture element is 1 when the picture element is defined as the surrounding picture element value. Condition 4b: As for the parallel direction of a scanning line, the picture element corresponding to the location of the object picture element in the scanning line of one before the object picture element is the index picture value by judging by a successive type and the 8 connection number of the object picture element is 1 when the picture element is defined as the surrounding picture element value.
