Abstract:

To facilitate guidance of a long object inserted into a patient's body.SOLUTION: An image processing system comprises: an x-ray imaging apparatus for taking an x-ray image that is a two-dimensional image of a patient's coronary artery or heart; a position detection device for detecting the position of the tip of a long object inserted into the coronary artery or the loculus of the heart; and an image processing device. The image processing device comprises a control unit which generates a three-dimensional image of the coronary artery or heart based on the x-ray image and displays the three-dimensional image with an image indicative of the tip of the long object superimposed thereon, based on a result of the detection by the position detection device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
