Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a stereoscopic image in which discomfort and fatigue are reduced by preventing an increase in processing load.SOLUTION: A function f indicating the relation between the allowable values of a horizontal parallax and a vertical parallax is defined. If the vertical parallax is smaller than an allowable value given by the function f, an object is not moved. If it is not smaller than the allowable value, the direction and the amount of movement of the object are calculated depending on whether the objects of the right-eye image and left-eye image are in contact with the upper edge or lower edge of a screen. A reference for reducing vertical parallax is made to differ between an object with a large amount of deviation and an object with a small amount of deviation. Also, formation of a stereoscopic image that is difficult to achieve stereoscopic integration is prevented.
