The image processing apparatus is disclosed, which stores setting information showing setting to image processing, authority information showing the range of image processing corresponding to user's authority, and authentication information for authenticating these pieces of information in a storage medium, reads the setting information and the authentication information stored in the storage medium, authenticates the read information by the authentication information, and uses the authenticated setting information to perform image processing within a range shown by the authentication information.
