When the non-use situation of a scanner device 2 continues for a prescribed time, an SCU 2b sets the scanner device 2 in a power saving standby state and an OCU 2e sets a display panel 21 in a first state. When the SCU 2b detects the setting of an original to the scanner device 2, the OCU 2e switches the display panel 21 from the first state to a second state where switch change with high visibility is brought about and information on picture- related processing is displayed. When the non-use situation of a printer device 3 continues for a prescribed time, the PCU 3b sets the printer device 3 in the power saving waiting state and the OCU 3f sets a display panel 31 in the first state. When the PCU 3b detects that the preparation of picture data inputted from the scanner device 2 is completed, the OCU 3f switches the display panel 31 from the first state to the second state.
