Abstract:
To detect a detection target from a shot image without causing a monitoring impossible period even when a shooting method of the shot image is changed or the brightness of a monitoring area is changed.SOLUTION: When a shooting mode is different between a sensing image 40t and a previous image 40p or a background image 42 captured immediately before, background image updating means 50 updates the background image 42 by using a future image 40f. When an estimated person area 60 is present in the future image 40f, the background image updating means 50 generates a change rate table on the basis of a pixel value of each pixel in a peripheral area 62 of the estimated person area 60 and in a peripheral area 62' of an estimated person area 60' in the background image 42, corrects a luminance value of each pixel in the estimated person area 60' to be a luminance value of the corresponding pixel of an estimated person area 60'' of an updated background image 42', and corrects a pixel value of an area other than the estimated person area 60 to a pixel value of each pixel other than the estimated person area 60'' of the background image 42' on the basis of the change rate table.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
