Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an image having higher precision and a more excellent quality by discriminating a character part from a photograph part and by using a method of interpolation suitable for each of them. CONSTITUTION:A circuit of interpolation of a character part is a data conversion circuit inserted between a printer controller and a printer engine element. By a demultiplexer 2 and switching circuits 1 to 3 and by a device control circuit 3 controlling them for each one line on the basis of a BD signal, an image signal VDO is written at a clock VCLK' in any one of line memories 1 to 3, while image signals D1 to D3 are read out of the other two line memories on the basis of a clock LCLK. A data selector 3 selects some of the signal D1 to D3 read out of the line memories 1 to 3 and of a signal D4 read out of a line memory 4 and outputs it as a laser drive signal LD, and the control of the selection is executed by the device control circuit 3.
