Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple image processor which can enhance the display quality by preventing the generation of a pseudo contour in a display image and to provide an image display device with this processor in low cost.
SOLUTION: This image processor has a first signal processing circuit 16 and a second signal processing circuit 17. The first signal processing circuit 16 converts an n-bits (n is natural number) digital signal inputted as a video signal into an m-bits (m>n: m is natural number) digital signal by performing γcorrection. The second signal processing circuit 17 outputs a Q-bits digital signal (Q≤n: Q is natural number) to a display part 11. The Q-bits digital signal is obtained by cutting off the lower (m-Q) bits from the m-bits digital signal after adding a noise signal for reducing the pseudo contour.
