Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and accurately detect features of an image by calculating the isolation quantity of a pixel value, integrating isolation quantities in a specific area, and extracting an image part having a specific attribute according to the integrated isolation quantity.
SOLUTION: A line memory 32-1 delays an input signal by six lines by a mean density calculating process part 2-2, an edge emphasizing process part 2-3, and an image absence countermeasure arithmetic process part 2-4 so that the input signal of a two-dimensional area can be referred to. Output signals of respective line memories are connected to respective blocks. A line memory 32-2 delays the binarized signal BDT outputted by a binarizing process part 2-6. The output signal of the line memory 32-2 is connected to respective isolation quantity calculation blocks of isolation quantity calculating process parts 3-1 to 3-4 and each isolation quantity calculation block refers to DBT data of up to 17 lines in a width scanning direction. Then isolation quantity adding process parts 3-5-1 to 3-5-4 adds calculated isolation quantities as to the specific area.
