Radiation rays are irradiated from a plurality of directions to a subject between a radiation image detector and a radiation ray irradiating part while the radiation ray irradiating part is moved, and a plurality of projection images photographed by detecting the radiation rays using the radiation image detector is obtained (step 100). A tomographic image of the subject is generated by reconstruction from the obtained plurality of projection images (step 102), and a plurality of projection image masks for separating a subject area including an image of the subject from a direct radiation area not including the image of the subject in each of the plurality of projection images is generated (step 104). A tomographic image mask for separating the subject area of the tomographic image from the direct radiation area is generated by reconstruction of the plurality of projection image masks (step 106), and the tomographic image mask is applied to the tomographic image to perform mask processing (step 108).
