Abstract:

PURPOSE: To quickly execute processing up to the preparation of a projection histogram by an image processor for judging the position of a target from a histogram obtained by processing a video signal for the target.
CONSTITUTION: A binarizing means 1 horizontally scans a video signal obtained by photograming a target mark 60a by a camera 51 and generates a binary signal by applying slicing processing to the video signal. An window signal output means 2 outputs an window signal corresponding to a previously set window area and an intra-window signal output means 3 finds out AND between the binary signal and the window signal and outputs an intra-window binary signal. A histogram preparing means 4 successively counts the high level state and low level state of an intra-window binary signal outputted in accordance with the advancement of horizontal scanning to prepare a histogram. Thus the binarization of a video signal, the setting of a window and the generation of an intra-window binary signal are executed during the horizontal scanning of one picture and a histogram is prepared based upon the intra-window binary signal.
