PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a data processing means by generating boundary information simultaneously with the generation of an address in the boundary of a processing area by an address generating means, receiving this boundary information by the data processing means at the time of reading picture data and processing according to the information. CONSTITUTION:The address generating means 101 for generating the address required for reading and writing the picture area of the addresses to be processed from picture storing means 104, 106, 108, picture processing means 103, 105, 107 for processing this picture data and obtaining a resulted picture and a boundary information transfer means 18 for supplying the boundary information to the picture storing means and the picture processing means from the address generating means in common are provided. When the address generating means 101 generates the address of the data to be processed, information indicating whether the data to be processed is the boundary of the area to be processed or not is transferred to the image processing means 103, 105, 107 synchronously therewith. Thereby, the control of the image processing can be simplified.
