Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate a vertical stripe noise based on sampling without deteriorating an input image, by deriving a difference of digital values of a part of a vertical stripe and a part of its periphery, and eliminating the vertical stripe in only the part when its difference is '1'. CONSTITUTION:First of all, image data of a 3X3 picture element portion is segmented by an image memory 111, a line shift register 113, and a segment shift register 117. Subsequently, by a convolution computing element 119, a value (c) which has subtracted an average value of other six pieces of image data from an average value of three pieces of vertical image data of the center is derived. Also, the absolute value of this value (c) is inputted to a threshold circuit 127, and only when the absolute value is '1', '1' is written in a binary image memory 128. Next, the image of the image memory 111 is read out again, and the image data whose vertical stripe has been eliminated by the computing element 119, and the image data from the image memory 111 are switched and outputted by a switch 14 in accordance with an output of the binary image memory 128.
