Abstract:
To allow continuous projection, even if a marker attached to a color wheel is peeled off, by generating a pulse indicating the timing to be a reference.SOLUTION: A first marker is provided at a reference position of a color wheel, and a second marker is provided at a position separated from the first marker by a predetermined distance. A detection unit outputs detection outputs from the first marker and the second marker provided on the color wheel that is driven to rotate. When acquiring the detection outputs from the first marker and the second marker, an adjustment unit discards the detection output from the second marker, and supplies the detection output from the first marker to a projection image formation control unit as a detection output for synchronizing color segments of the color wheel with color modulation processing on a projection image. When acquiring only the detection output from the second marker, the adjustment unit adjusts the output waveform and timing of the detection output from the second marker to the same output waveform and timing of the detection output from the first marker, and supplies the adjusted detection output to the formation control unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
