Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of realizing both compaction and cost reduction with simple configuration.SOLUTION: A holder 27 and a contact glass 28 are brought into adhesion state by using a liquid adhesive agent on one side on the upstream side of transport direction of a script where a white sheet 33 is placed, and brought into adhesion state by using a double-sided tape on three other sides. Since the contact glass 28 is bonded using a double-sided tape more inexpensive than a liquid adhesive, excepting one side, cost can be reduced. Since a liquid adhesive agent having adhesive strength per unit area stronger than a double-sided tape is used, the length of an upstream adhesive part 44 in the script transport direction can be smaller than that of the downstream adhesive part 41, and thereby the contact glass 28 and holder 27 can be made smaller. Consequently, both compaction and cost reduction of the image reading device can be realized with simple configuration of bonding at the upstream adhesive part 44, where the length in the script transport direction is made smaller than the downstream adhesive part 41, by using a liquid adhesive agent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
