Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image reader by which a position of an original is aligned with high precision by the operation of the operator even if an original position reference of a read scanning system is deviated from that of an original placing system when manufactured. SOLUTION: A guide pin 17, an adjustment pin 18, a transparent original guide 42 and a holder 51 are used for aligning a position of an original, and a tilt angle of the transparent original guide 42 is changed around the guide pin by the turning the adjustment pin 18. In the case that there is a shift in a position, angle and size or the like of a platen glass sheet 5, the position at which the transparent original is placed can be aligned with high precision to a desired setting position of a read scanning system. Thus, an output of the image reader provided with the read scanning system is image data of an image aligned with high precision. Since the transparent original held by the holder 51 is not directly in contact with the platen glass 5, no dirt is depositted on the platen glass. Plural transparent originals are aligned simultaneously with high precision.
