Abstract:
To provide an image reader which is high in optical resolution, high in image quality and is easily to assembled and adjusted.
A lens base 32 is provided with a first image forming lens 34 and a second image forming lens 36 so that they may be selectively arranged on an optical path. The second image forming lens 36 has an optical resolution higher than that of the first image forming lens 34 and has an effective F number set to a dark level. The exposure to a line sensor 30 is controlled in accordance with selection between the image forming lenses.
