To provide an image reading device which, while restraining increase in parts count and the worsening of assembly work, can restrain the wear of resin members and the vibration of a scanner unit.
An image reading device 6 comprises a hand placement document glass 25b, an automatic read glass 25a, a resin member 61, a scanner unit 62 including a CIS sensor 62a which reads images from the document, and an enclosure 64. At the top face 62b of the scanner unit 62, a slide member 67 is provided. When the scanner unit 62 reciprocates between beneath the hand placement document glass 25b and beneath the automatic read glass 25a, the slide member 67 slides along the sliding face of a bridge section 64e formed in the enclosure 64 as an integral body with it.
