PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, in a configuration where an original loading surface 30a of a paper feeding tray 30 rises/lowers, with a paper discharging tray 13 under the paper feeding tray 30, if the original loading surface 30a is raised at always before starting a job, the original is possible to be damaged when a user lifts up the paper feeding tray 30.SOLUTION: A lift-up control is changed for an original loading surface 30a when an original is placed in a paper feeding tray 30, depending on a case where a paper discharging tray original presence detection sensor 19 detects that there is an original in the paper discharging tray 13 or where it detects there is no original in the paper discharging tray 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
