A first reading unit 301 can move between a first movement area Z1 where an image of a placed document can be read through a contact glass 203 and a second movement area Z2 where an image of a conveyed document can be read through a contact glass 204, and can be changed in attitude between a first reading attitude for reading an image of a first document through the contact glass 203 and a second reading attitude for reading an image of a second document through the contact glass 204. A white reference board 211 for image correction is arranged in a specific area Z3 between the first movement area Z1 and second movement area Z2 of the first reading unit 301, and on the first reading unit 301 side with respect to the contact glass 204.
