A slit part 18a is opened in a reading inlet guide 18 provided on the upstream side in the direction of document conveyance for a first reading and conveyance part for reading surface image on document from below a reading glass 21 to drop dust x before dust x is brought to a reading position 20 by the conveyed document. A charged member 33 being effective for collecting dust of minute objects is attached to a lower face side which becomes a rear side for a conveyance passage of the slit part 18a to not only collect the dust x dropping naturally but also draw near the dust x by static electricity. A nonwoven fabric charged eternally can be used as the charged member 33.
