Abstract:

To provide an image reading device capable of performing real-time operation for extracting characteristics of read image data from a form dependent on each wavelength of illumination lights at a printing part to be dropped out, and replacing a pixel to be dropped out with data determined as white.

The device includes: a color image position synchronizing circuit part 13; a color determination part 14 for outputting pixel position information with one signal branched from the output of the color image position synchronizing circuit part 13 as dropout data when data of each luminescence color at the same pixel position in a light receiving part 5 is within the specified range; an image monochromating circuit part 15 for outputting the other signal branched from the output of the color image position synchronizing circuit part 13 as monochromatic data after multiplying it by constant data determined for each luminescence color, and adding to it the same pixel position data of the light receiving part 5, and a data replacement part 16 for performing data replacement for the monochromatic data, in which the pixel corresponding to the pixel position information from the color determination part 14 is put to a dropout level.
