Abstract:
To reduce a risk of rotation of a small size document which is not regulated by a document guide, when a plurality of documents having different width are mixed on a document tray.SOLUTION: An image reading device can selectively execute a normal mode for feeding a plurality of sheets of documents having the same document width and a different width sheets mixed and loaded mode for feeding a plurality of sheets of documents having different width, as a document feeding mode. When the normal mode is selected, a feeding roller is lifted and lowered when each of the documents loaded on a document tray is fed, and, when the different width sheets mixed and loaded mode is selected, the feeding roller is kept lowered during a period from the start of feeding of a first document of the plurality of sheets of documents loaded on the document tray to the completion of feeding of a final document.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
