Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an image reading and page turning device for book document which is not difficult to take out a book document or does not damage the book document.
CONSTITUTION: A switch 36 is provided on the front surface of the document platen unit 35 of the image reading and page turning device for book document 500C. By depressing the switch 36 in a state where the unit 35 is inserted in a device main body, the document platen on which the book document BO is placed is lowered to move the book document BO to a retreat position. Thus, the book document BO is prevented from coming in contact with an operation unit 200 in the case the unit 35 is pulled out from the device main body.
