PURPOSE: To provide an image receiving paper, for use in copying machine, printer, facsimile, etc., using a heat fusible ink type heat transfer recording process, which is high in the quality of recording images in full color, excellent in ink transfer acceptability, repeatability, fixing property, gradation formability and sharpness (DOT staining and bridging) and good in curl after recording.
CONSTITUTION: The image receiving paper, for use in fusing type heat transfer recording, has an intermediate layer and an image receiving layer formed on its base paper and the intermediate layer contains as a pigment the calcium carbonate whose surface is activated by a dispersing machine using media in the presence of the hydrophilic medium containing a water-soluble protecting colloidal agent and a porous pigment having a transparent specific gravity (JIS-K-6220) of 0.10-0.50g/cm3.
