To provide an image recorder which substantially prevents the occurrence of uneven transportation and jam despite of long-term use, eliminates the need for a development processing liquid and executes image recording by transporting cut sheet-like photosensitive heat developable films without a speed fluctuation.

This image recorder has an upstream side roller pair for feeding the photosensitive heat developable films to a scanning surface of a laser beam scanned by a beam scanning means for scanning the films with the laser beam in the main scanning direction, a downstream side roller pair for transporting the photosensitive heat developable films from the scanning surface and a heat developing section for heat developing the photosensitive heat developable films transported by the transporting means from the downstream side roller pair. The downstream side roller pair consists of two pairs of revolving rollers. The films are irradiated with the laser beam under main scanning by the beam scanning means while the photosensitive heat developable films are transported by the upstream side roller pair and the downstream side roller pair while sub-scanning is executed when the front ends of the photosensitive heat developable films arrive at the downstream side roller pair.
