To reduce a space necessary for installation and record a large amount of images at high speeds.
A recording material 60 wound into a roll shape is taken out to an image record position along a longitudinal direction. While reciprocated (scanned horizontally) along the longitudinal direction of the recording material 60, a recording head is gradually moved (scanned vertically) along a width direction of the recording material 60. Recording liquid drops are discharged from nozzles of the recording head to adhere to the recording material 60, whereby images of N frames (N≥2) are recorded parallel along the longitudinal direction of the recording material 60. Then, a part where images of N frames are recorded is separated by a first cutter from a part where images are not recorded yet, and is transferred along the longitudinal direction of the recording material 60. After a solvent included in the adhered recording liquid drops is removed and a transparent coating is formed, the part is cut in units of separate images by a second cutter.
