To provide an image recorder for performing an image exposure processing using an automatic multiple image exposure function by automatically displaying displays of several kinds of prescribed lengths corresponding to the width of the photosensitive material of a cartridge to feed paper and selecting one of them in the case of performing the image exposure processing by using the automatic multiple image exposure function in the image recorder provided with a plurality of the cartridges around which the photosensitive material is wound and also provided with the automatic multiple image exposure functions.

In the storage part of the recorder 1, a table defining 'the relation of the width of the photosensitive material and the prescribed length' is stored. Also, during the idling operation of the recorder 1, information regarding the width of the photosensitive material of the respective cartridges 10 and 10' is inputted and the cartridge to feed the paper is specified from an operation part 8. Then, in the case that the automatic multiple image exposure function is set, the prescribed length corresponding to the width of the photosensitive material of the cartridge to feed the paper is read from the storage part on the basis of the table and the information and it is displayed on a screen.
