To provide an image recorder where insertion or transport of a recording medium is not hindered by a member for supporting the recording medium.
The image recorder includes: a transporting path 65 for the recording medium; a recording part 24 recording an image on the recording medium; a supporting member 42 supporting the printing medium and opposing a lower side of the recording part 24; a first pair of rollers 58 disposed on an upstream side of the recording part 24; a second pair of rollers 59 disposed on a downstream side of the recording part 24; a third pair of rollers 44 disposed on a downstream side of the second pair of rollers 59; and a guide member 80 disposed between the second and third pairs of rollers 59 and 44 and supporting the recording medium. Nip positions 90 and 91 by the first pair of rollers 58 and the second pair of rollers 59 are positioned above a supporting surface 42A of the supporting member 42, and a nip position 92 by the third pair of rollers 44 is positioned above the nip position by the second pair of rollers 59. The distal end portion 89 of the guide member 80 can turn at a position above the nip position 91 by the second pair of rollers 59 or at a position in the same height as that of the nip position 91.
