PURPOSE: To enable image data to be transferred in either vertical or horizontal direction with simple circuit configuration by fitting a direction where the image data transferred from the outside is inputted in the instructed direction of an address supplied to memory.

CONSTITUTION: Assuming the address outputted directly from a micro-processor 1 as the one of 12 bits of A0-A11 and an address 11 generated from an address latch 3 as the one of 12 bits of A12-A23, an address switch 4 outputs an address 7 as an address 13 and outputs the address 11 as the address 14 when, for example, an image is the one in the vertical direction in a state where no replacing of address is performed. Therefore, the address is outputted to the memory 6 via a DRAM controller 5 as the one of 24 bits of A0-A23. Also, when the image is the one in a lateral direction, replacing of the address 7 with an latch output 11 is performed, and the address 7 is outputted as the address 14, and the address 11 as the address 13.
