To select whether camera shake correction is performed or not in an image recording apparatus capable of recording an image acquired in an imaging element 8 according to a user operation into a record medium 5.

The image recording apparatus comprises a camera shake micro computer 2 for performing the camera shake correction to an image by detecting the camera shake at the time of user operation. The camera shake micro computer 2 is designed to calculate the amount of the camera shake at the time of user operation, to compare the calculated amount of the camera shake with a predetermined threshold, then notification about it is made by a display 6 when the mount of the camera shake is larger than the predetermined threshold. Then the camera shake correction is performed to the image when a user indication that the camera shake correction is carried out in accordance with the notification is issued.
